The experience of being able to shadow Dr. Vokshoor has been an invaluable one. Getting to see the day-to-day goings-on of a top-notch physician was truly eye-opening. I was awed by his ability to communicate intricate medical details to patients with varying levels of medical understanding, providing comfort and comprehension for their conditions, as well as inspiring confidence in his expertise. His dedication to treating the patient beyond the ailment, advocating for mindfulness and healthy lifestyle choices alongside medically necessary procedures, is an attribute I hope will inform my future career in medicine. It was also a genuinely rare treat to get the opportunity to observe a neurosurgery in person, and watching the deft prowess and seamless teamwork exhibited throughout was truly something to aspire to. I am grateful to have taken part in this internship and hope to bring all that I've learned from it into my future endeavors in medicine and beyond.
