This year, our theme was fundaMental Beauty, which celebrated the architectural and functional beauty of the brain, especially relating to aesthetics and pattern recognition.

The experience of fundaMental beauty emerges from our brain's capacity to perceive rich sensory arrays interpreted within the context of our social and cultural influences.

KEYNOTE

Our Keynote speaker was the multi-talented Dr. Don Vaughn, an academic neuroscientist, futurist, international public speaker, and consultant. His foci include neuroscience, human behavior, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Since graduating from Stanford, Dr. Vaughn’s research has been featured in TIME magazine, profiled by Cadillac, and received over a million views in his TEDx talk “Neurohacking: Rewiring your brain.”

The event was emceed by our very own board member, Aashna. Aashna has hosted and produced for red carpets and numerous entertainment, lifestyle, food and travel programs on NBC, CNN, Travel Channel, E! Entertainment and TV Guide Television as well as American Airlines, United Airlines, Jet Blue and Virgin America.
